Uses for Refried Beans:

There are so many ways to use this versatile dish. For starters, enchiladas… I’ll be posting my favorite recipe soon. This is an extremely simplified version of enchiladas. You will love it! Stay posted, it’s coming soon!

Burritos– Spread a few tablespoons in the center of a tortilla and top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, guacamole, green onions, sour cream or any other toppings you love.

Tacos– I like to fill tacos with refried beans and ground beef taco filling, I think it adds a little something extra!

Refried Beans on the side– Pair with rice for a great side dish to go with your favorite Mexican dinners. You can find some of my favorites here: Mexican Salsa Chicken Bake, 5 Minute Chicken Burrito Filling, Yellow Rice Pizza, Fajitas.

Big Batch Refried Beans

If you double the recipe, you’ll have about 4 cups of beans that you can use throughout the week for quick snacks, lunch burritos, dip for tortillas, etc.

Also, they’ll keep for several days in a tightly covered container in the fridge.

About Canned Black Beans…

Here’s the scoop, get it? Sorry, that was bad! They’re just plain easy! That’s why they’re a staple in my pantry. I especially like the texture of canned beans, they’re typically nice and tender.

Quick Snack

Refried black beans are one of my favorite protein rich snacks for my kids AND they seem to hold them over for a couple of minutes/hours. Another thing I love, they’re healthy! Can’t beat that.

We like to use them as a dip to serve with tortilla chips. Add a little bit of chicken broth if you’re looking for a creamier consistency.

Add-Ins

Consider this a base recipe, feel free to add in green onions, cilantro, chopped tomatoes, jalapenos or chipotle peppers.
