These dark, chocolaty, decadent, gluten free chocolate brownies are completely flour-less, take about 5 minutes to make and can even be mixed in your blender! Best of all they’re HEALTHY Brownies!

What’s the secret ingredient in Gluten Free Chocolate Brownies?

No one will ever guess they’re made with BLACK BEANS unless you tell them. I know it sounds strange but if you give them a chance you will not be disappointed! Who needs flour?

Energy bites or dessert?

Consider this, with protein from the beans and caffeine from cocoa powder these brownies will give you a little pick-me-up. However, they’re also a delicious, chocolaty dessert!

Minimal amount of sugar…

One of the things I love about this recipe is that it has half the amount of sugar that most brownie recipes require. Typically, they call for an entire cup which really makes me cringe.

 Dark Chocolate Taste

I must tell you, these are for dark chocolate lovers, if you’re a fan of dark chocolate you will love these.

What you’ll need to make Gluten Free Chocolate Brownies…

Black Beans

I use canned black beans mostly because they’re easy and the texture is nice and soft for this recipe. If you cook them yourself just make sure they’re very tender.

Coconut Oil

Why I prefer coconut oil…coconut oil gives these brownies a really nice hint of coconut flavor kind of like an Almond Joy candy bar.

Cocoa Powder

If you’re a fan of chocolate recipes like me, you should consider buying cocoa in bulk at a wholesale club such as Sam’s or Costco (it lowers the price quite a bit ). Some of the recipes you’ll find around here call for cocoa. 🙂

Sugar

I especially like, organic cane sugar, make sure it’s finely ground so that it incorporates well in the recipe.

Eggs

Use large eggs to get the right consistency.

Vanilla Extract

This is another item I buy in bulk but if you’re feeling ambitious and want to try making homemade vanilla extract this is a great recipe and a fun project!

Chocolate Chips

Semi-sweet, mini chocolate chips are the best for this recipe. They add a little bit of extra sweetness plus they look really pretty on the tops of your little brownie bites!

Ninja Black Bean Brownies…

Gluten Free Chocolate Brownie Ingredients in my Ninja Blender

Lastly, this is my one of my favorite Dishing Simple recipe hacks. A Ninja or Nutri Bullet type of blender works great for this recipe. Just make sure that the mixture doesn’t get too dry (add a little water as needed) or you can damage the motor.
