Best No Roll Cabbage Casserole

Enjoy the goodness of cabbage rolls without all the fuss in this easy cabbage casserole. Bagged cole- slaw mix keeps it super simple.

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz. bag cole-slaw mix (shredded)
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • ½ cup onion finely chopped
  • ¼- ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 1 ½ cups chopped tomatoes canned or boxed
  • ½ cup uncooked white rice
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 16 oz. tomato sauce

Instructions
 

  • Sauté beef and onions in a large skillet until beef is browned. Drain excess grease.
  • Add salt, pepper, tomatoes, rice, water & Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.
    Cover & simmer for 15 minutes or until rice is cooked.
  • Lightly oil a 10x10 casserole dish. Spread shredded cabbage into bottom of dish, using about 2/3 of the bag.
    Pour 1 cup of tomato sauce over cabbage.
    Spoon rice mixture over cabbage.
    Cover with remaining cup of tomato sauce.
  • Cover & bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
    Remove from oven and top with shredded cheese. Return to oven until cheese is melted (about 5 minutes).
