Ingredients in Best 15-Minute Enchilada Sauce:
Vegetable Oil and Flour: I use vegetable or canola oil but any neutral tasting oil will work. All purpose flour is fine for this recipe. For a gluten free alternative I’ve used Bob’s Red Mill 1-1 with good results.
Chili Powder: There are many different varieties and opinions on chili powder! Because I use it in so many things, like my homemade taco seasoning (if you need a gluten free or chemical free alternative to store bought) I buy it in bulk. Member’s Mark (Sam’s Club) brand is good.
Tomato Sauce: Tetra packed tomatoes (boxed) are the only kind I use. I think they taste better, more like fresh and they’re healthier. In case you’re interested, I came across this article about canned tomatoes and thought I should share it… Should You Eat Canned Tomatoes?
